Winehiker Witiculture: Wine Blogging Wednesday #50: Which wine, which wilderness?

  • Sonadora · 1 year ago
    Great theme Russ!

I'll have to think about that one, not much hiking in DC!!
  • Catie · 1 year ago
Russ, I love this theme! You have my mind spinning! Happy 50th WBW! You chose one of the best to be the host!
    Cheers,
    C~

Best theme yet! We'll try to do another mountain top tasting, if possible. Should be fun!

There is a theme I can work with...Now if I can just find a wine with a clever name...I have some thinking to do.
  • winehiker · 1 year ago
Real nice to hear from all you fine folks, and glad you like the theme! I'm looking forward to our virtual walk together.

Oof...I fly into SF next Monday the 6th...hate to miss *two* WBW's in a row...argh...we'll see...
  • 1WineDude · 1 year ago
I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll drink some wine down!

If you're looking for wilderness, there's plenty just east of SF in Calaveras County, on up Hwy 4 thru Alpine County as well for some genuine designated wilderness areas Mokelumne and Carson-Iceberg). Or you can pull off at Calaveras Big Trees State Park and enjoy some... really big trees!

Thanks, Jefe-- just checked back in & figured yr comment concerned me. I tend to suffer from pretty bad jetlag, & what's happened is, true to form, second-guessing myself & reacting to continuing unfinished biz down here, I've postponed my flight until Saturday the 11th...not sure I can manage the appropiate hike in the rain forest, browsing around to try to compile links to online resources for sharing...

Howdy winehiker. I know just the wine and just the place. It's one of the New Jersey wines I can recommend.

I'm sorry...I live in London and my outdoorsy options are limited! So it was me, my recliner, and some DVDs...

Thanks for hosting, Russ. See you in a couple weeks.

Sad I didn't get a chance to find the theme before today. And perhaps a tad grateful, as my last true hike was probably with my son's cub scout pack, and I assure you, there's no wine allowed!

That being said, I think you picked a fabulous topic, and I have truly enjoyed reading some of the posts that spawned from it. Thanks!

Hi, Russ-- apologies for the late posting: something of an opus, touching on a personal issue. Trust not too 'off-topic':
